I know the circumstances aren't funny, but reading the story is! I laughed my butt off and read it out loud to my 17 year old daughter. She laughed too. Boys. It will get better, especially when he starts noticing girls. (Well it does for most boys, but not ALL...LOL). Hopefully your son will hop on the hygiene train soon.

You know I still have to ask my 14 year old if he brushed his teeth. The underwear thing I have to wonder about in this house too with my oldest. When I wash I don't see that many. My middle son with autism I get him in the shower daily but he don't know how to scrub himself right. I have to scrub him down as he is a true boy and is covered in dirt after a day of play.

Oh my!!! Have you seen my posts on my boys and their hygiene?? My youngest is doing better. The older boy said that he needs a girlfriend. She will tell him to shower and wear his nicer clothes.

They both are doing better with changing their clothes. Now I am sick of washing it all. Plus, they now use up all the hot water.

Kinda like how you never think the will talk or walk!!! Now they won't shut up kinda thing going at my house. I guess they will start eating soon.

Oh, I needed that laugh! Sigh - I love the 2 pair comment - I'm sure my David would have reacted the same way. We just have to remember they're not 12 forever - and most of them do learn to pack a pair for every day by the time they're grown. :-)

LOL It feels so good to know I'm not the only one with a son who has these issues. My son is 10 and he often forgets to brush his teeth or wash his hair....I have to tell him to do it. If I don't tell him and then ask him later if he did it, he will respond with "you didn't tell me to brush my teeth." Ugh. I guess tweens are no different than pre-teens in that respect.

My son will turn 12 on tomorrow and I'm having some of the same issues with him.

How about this? We keep tissue, toothpaste, soap, etc, in a hallway closet. All you have to do is grab something when you need it. This kid has been taking a bath in plain water for at least a week, because he "forgot" to get soap from the closet.

I am sure you forced him to pack at least 6 pair of underwear to go along with the pair he will wear there. Please expect that all of the pairs he packed will return in a condition that clearly indicated they were not worn, but will need washing all the same. :)
